My Dog Training Style:

Personally, I favour the force-free, positive reinforcement-based approach to dog training, and that is how I train my own dogs and clients’ dogs. In my online consultations (via video- or audio call) I always promote this approach. But at the same time, I don’t claim to be able to help ALL dogs, no matter their behaviorial issues. See the tab “Aggression Cases” for my recommendations on what to do if you believe that you, or others, are in danger from your dog.

I’m not talking about “reactive” dogs here - the term “reactivity” describes a dog that is safe with people/dogs they trust, and acts “aggressively” only to keep strangers/unfamiliar dogs away. Such dogs do not fall into the same category as true aggression cases. Among dog trainers, it’s generally assumed that only about 5% of dogs displaying “aggressive” behaviors (lunging, air-snapping, growling, snarling, barking) are in fact intent of causing harm to people and pets. If you are in any doubt as to which category your dog falls under, email me, and send me a video of your dog showing the “aggressive” behaviors you are concerned about. Then, we can jump on a short call and determine which approach is best for you and your dog.
