Severe Aggression & Bully Breed Dogs

Meet Kevin Murdaugh, aka The Anti Dog Trainer!

At this point in my career, I don’t take on cases involving severe aggression anymore (dogs with a bite-history, dogs attacking the owner or mauling other dogs, etc.). I also don’t work with bully type dogs or other potentially dangerous dog breeds like Corsos, Dogos, Presas, and Rottweilers. Neither in the person, nor in online consultations or crafting a training plan.

My colleage Kevin Murdaugh, however, specializes in these cases. In his 15 years of professional experience, he has built up a solid track record of success. Kevin is very active on social media, and routinely showcases his work with clients and their dogs on his YouTube channel and FB page, both called “Act Like A Human Think Like A Dog”. Kevin is based in Romeoville, Illinois, and works both locally, and remotely (via online consultations and coaching).

I’ve had the pleasure of talking to Kevin on Livestream, watched videos showing his work in detail, and I highly recommend him for challenging behavioral cases that require a different approach than my own (which is training-based, and using elements of modern dog training to modify behaviors).

You can check out Kevin’s customer reviews on Thumbtack, and arrange for a call with him via his Facebook Business Page, or via email: kevinjmurdaugh@yahoo.com

Kevin Murdaugh’s approach, in his own words:

Act Like A Human Think Like A Dog

“I am not a dog trainer. I teach social dynamics and how to build a particular type of relationship dynamic with dogs through the way we interact with them.

I make a distinction between what "dog training" is, which is building specific skills in a dog, as well as teaching tricks. Real obedience does not come through training, and this is where people go wrong. Many think that if they take their dog to "obedience" classes, or train obedience, that they will get an obedient dog, but it doesn't work this way. Training skills does not equal respect in your dog's eyes.

Everything comes down to how our dog's perceive the humans it lives with. How we communicate with and share space with our dog. The problems live here.

Dogs are creatures of hierarchy. Everything comes down to understanding this. Dogs don't establish authority with one another through training, so why do we? How is it that a dog can get another dog to willingly follow it? What is going on there? That's what I will teach you.

My goal is to educate dog owners on the social hardwiring of their dog and Canines in general, as this is where behavioral issues must be addressed.

The only training and educating I do is for the owners and anyone involved with the dog in question's life. I teach owners about how the behavioral issues they are experiencing developed, and how to resolve them. This involves change on the part of the humans. The dog changes when the human changes.

My focus is on the relationship dynamic that has already been established between the dog and their owner, and how to change that dynamic through the type of interactions that are taking place between the dog and the people involved.

Most behavioral problems are the result of imbalanced power dynamics, lack of rules, boundaries, and structure, and ineffective communication which leads to a lack of trust, respect, and control.

I do not use tools such as shock collars, clickers, prong collars, and I rarely use food or toys in my work, unless a situation calls for it specifically.

I aim to empower you with the knowledge of how humans generally cause behavioral problems to develop, and how you play a crucial role in reversing them.

With the right approach, you will be shocked how quickly your dog can change.

I have 15 years with aggressive behavior modification.
